Val Gardena.
Ski resort Val Gardena / Seiser Alm. In summary, a ski paradise for beginners and World Cup stars with the longest ski slope in South Tyrol
Val Gardena is the perfect destination for skiers who love variety and want to explore a ski resort offering slopes suitable for both families with children and World Cup champions seeking new challenges.
The Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi ski resort is part of Dolomiti Superski, the famous network of 12 ski areas accessible with a single ski pass. From Val Gardena, you can enjoy more than 500 kilometers of perfectly connected and well-groomed slopes, including the legendary Sellaronda, an extraordinary ski tour around the Sella massif, which can be skied in both directions and is unrivalled in its scenic beauty.
Val Gardena is the most traditional ski resort in South Tyrol, standing out for its wide variety of slopes, surrounded by the most spectacular Dolomite landscapes in the region. Among them are the famous “The Legendary 8”, the most beautiful and significant slopes that bear witness to over a century of skiing tradition in the heart of the Ladin Dolomites.
The legendary Sasslong slope hosts the annual men’s World Cup race, while the longest ski slope in South Tyrol, “La Longia”, stretches over 10 kilometers with a vertical drop of 1,273 meters, running from Seceda to Ortisei, offering a varied and exciting descent.
The Alpe di Siusi ski area is particularly popular with beginners and families. Here, children can safely and playfully take their first steps on skis on gentle and easy slopes.
With such a vast array of ski slopes, it is no surprise that Val Gardena has produced an impressive number of top athletes, particularly in alpine skiing. The current World Cup athletes of the “Alpine Skiteam Val Gardena” also come from this successful environment.
Lech, Zurs, St Anton, Warth.
Whether you’re a family, a young couple on a romantic escape, an older couple looking for sophistication and dreamy skiing, or a group of friends wanting to party – Lech really does cater to everyone. From the onion-domed church that stands tall in the center of the village, to the friendly locals, to the incredibly vast terrain, Lech really is a special place.
Lech is part of the gigantic Arlberg skiing region. The entire area is now linked by ski runs and lifts which has made it the largest connected ski resort in Austria, and the 5th largest in the world. There are endless wide open groomed runs and some very decent off-piste skiing. The whole Arlberg region includes 88 state-of-the-art lift and cable car systems, 340km of ski runs and 200km of off-piste.
In addition to its varied pistes, the Ski Arlberg ski resort is also renowned for its breathtaking mountain panoramas. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, enjoy the picturesque landscape as you carve the slopes and be inspired by the beauty of nature.
Apart from the slopes above the main village and around Oberlech, most of Lech’s ski terrain sits above the treeline. Skiers and boarders will enjoy wide-open runs, extensive grooming and a well-connected touring route.
The White Ring is the area’s famous circuit (and annual race) that connects many of the resort’s runs and lifts. The course is 22km long and boasts 5500m of descent. While most people make a day of it (stopping at one of the many great on-mountain restaurants along the way), the course record is 44:35:07. With the addition of new cable cars connecting the entire region, there is a new run called the “Run of Fame” – an 85km circuit from St Anton/Rendle to Zurs, Lech, Warth and back again.
Lech has a 3.6ha snowpark with rails, boxes, kickers and more, suitable for beginners, intermediates and pros.
